About Us

Camden Bailey Cancer Foundation

The Camden Bailey Cancer Foundation was created by Camden Bailey, whose resilience in the face of osteosarcoma continues to inspire all who know him. What began as a personal journey has grown into a passionate mission to make a difference for others facing this rare and aggressive cancer. The Camden Bailey Cancer Foundation is dedicated to advancing research, advocating for increased funding and awareness, supporting patients and their families, and providing scholarships to empower the next generation. Together, we are working toward a future where osteosarcoma no longer threatens the lives of children and young adults.

Camden's Story

Camden Bailey grew up in a small town in New Hampshire with his two brothers, Braeden and Daven, and parents, Chris and Jen. From a young age Camden was very active, excelling in football, baseball, basketball, and tennis. At the age of 14, Camden was diagnosed with osteosarcoma after experiencing persistent knee pain during his 8th grade basketball season in March 2018. Osteosarcoma is a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer that most often occurs in children. Over the next year, Camden faced vigorous chemotherapy treatment and underwent rotationplasty surgery (a partial amputation of his left leg), and two lung surgeries.

After missing most of his freshman year of high school, Camden went on to enjoy three years cancer-free. Despite having a prosthetic left leg, he became the varsity quarterback of his football team, earning All-State recognition his senior season (first football play after surgery and treatment). He also played three years of varsity tennis, serving as captain for both tennis and football his senior season. Camden’s leadership and accomplishments extended beyond athletics. He was Senior Class President, Salutatorian of the Class of 2022, and recipient of the prestigious Kennett Cup — a true leader on and off the field.

Just days after graduating high school in June 2022, Camden learned his cancer had returned, after enjoying three years cancer free, when a small cancerous lung nodule was discovered at a routine checkup. The nodule was surgically removed, and Camden began a new drug trial. Shortly after starting this treatment, Camden began college at the prestigious University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During the spring and fall of 2023, Camden had the pleasure of working with the UNC football team as a manager. Unfortunately between his treatments and the demands of school he had to stop working with the football team at the end of the 2023 season. In his five semesters at UNC, Camden endured three chest surgeries, participated in three different drug trials, had two rounds of radiation, and endured chemotherapy treatments. Unfortunately, the cancer continued to come back, and ultimately he was forced to leave school after the fall semester of his junior year (2024).

Upon getting home from school in December 2024, Camden received a terminal diagnosis, as his cancer had continued to spread despite the interventions done throughout the past two and a half years. Within hours of receiving this news, Camden asked his parents if they would start a scholarship in his name. That request became the spark for something greater — the creation of both the Camden Bailey Scholarship and the Camden Bailey Cancer Foundation: Quest 2 Cure Osteosarcoma, established in the spring of 2025. In May 2025 the foundations first two events were held, a launch party and first annual golf tournament. Both were very successful, creating awareness and community the foundation continues to strive for.

Throughout 2025, Camden has continued his fight, undergoing four rounds of intense chemotherapy and two rounds of radiation. The Foundation was created because, for patients like Camden, there is still no cure for metastatic osteosarcoma. Camden's fight continues, fueled by strength, resilience, and the mission to inspire change.
